Meet our Massage Therapist -Linda Thornton-

My daughter Becky was influential in my decision to attend massage therapy school. At the time my husband had sustained a head injury in an auto accident. The injury not only changed his sense of color, but at times and for no reason he would become extremely aggitated and angry. When I used my hands to massage his head, neck and shoulders, the aggitation would go away as quickly as it had started. My daughter noted the positive effect that my touch had on his injury and his personality. It was her encouragement and confidence in my abilities that lead me to massage therapy. The positive touch to help people feel better and heal themselves is one of the most wonderful feelings in the world. In fact, I get as much energy out of doing the massage as my clients get out of receiving the massage. I have been so blessed to have such wonderful support from my family, friends and God in my journey to help others.
I completed my massage training at MTTI of Kansas City in 1993. At that time, you had to complete 1,000 hours of massage in order to get your license. I had fun learning and getting that license. However, I just wasn't satisfied with just learning the basics, so I decided to get some advanced training. I attended the Oklahoma School of Natural Healing in Tulsa. I completed 650 additional hours of training under Dr. Robert Groves, ND. Dr. Groves has been teaching massage therapy and holistic healing methods since 1976. I count it a privileged to have studied under this true master. At the time I finished my studies, I was working as a dental assistant for Dr. Gregory Thompson. I practiced my art of massage in his dental office for nearly 15 years until he closed his practice in 2008. Since then, I have practiced out of my home in Kansas City, MO. In all, I have practiced massage therapy for nearly 20 years. I am now blessed to have the opportunity to work with Dr. Sanders and his wife Tracy. They are loving and caring people, and this is going to be another wonderful journey in my life!
